Gene expression profiling

Gene expression profiling

Whereas genome sequencing gives us an insight into what a cell could potentially do, gene expression profiling tells us what a cell is doing at a particular point in time.  Gene profiles can be used to measure reactions to treatment at the cellular level, and high density oligo arrays can be used to measure the entire genome in a particular cell.
